Painting Videos

In the videos, Bob Ross and the Disney Artist, describes their movements by using many adjectives that point out certain moments moves that they use. Examples could be referring to the way the make the paintings have a sense of depth. They also sometimes describe the movement of their wrist to allow the viewer to distinguish how they make certain styles happen. While working on their paintings, all artist focus on different areas; all focused on the shape of the object, but they each had a different texture that they were trying to achieve. They also described the paint that they were using and the tools they used to apply said paint. All artist talked about their personal approach to painting certain objects and how they might have been influenced to draw a certain way. They all directed our attention to their style and how they chose to address certain parts of the paintings.

  1. I like how you pointed out the different movements as well as used examples to further the point you are making. I also like how you pointed out how they move their wrist, I never took that into consideration before. It was good how you took the time to understand why the artists did the things they did and what goal they were trying to accomplish. Also I like how you undertood the purpose behind their actions. I enjoyed reading about your point of view a lot. Good job.

  2. You did a really nice job pointing out how the artists focus on different ares such as the shape of the objects and each had a different texture they were trying to achieve. I too felt as though the videos were directly us to focus on their style as that was what was shown most in the disney video, four artists painted the same tree but all in very different ways, good job!
