This week went by pretty well. We did the usual ad got more
into our WP2.
On Monday we went over some changes in the syllabus, which was
helpful because I would have never notice the changed and would have done all
my assignments late. We also did an interesting activity which really got me thinking
about. The point of the activity was to make ourselves think from a different
point-of-view. I admit that I found it very hard, but I also found it interesting
how changing one’s point-of-view can open one to a whole different scenario. Like
everyday day, we had our weekly tips; this time the most important ones had to
do with brackets and hedged language, both of which I had no idea how to use or
what they meant.
While writing my shitty first draft, found myself really
liking the topic and thought that the readings were capable of being understood
which is always helpful since I’m the one who need to be able to interpret them.
I also thought that I had done a decent job making an intro, but I know I still
need to work on it. Too bad that I won’t be there Monday to get feedback from
my fellow classmates.
On Tuesday the journal was also a good. It was helpful in
getting an understanding of the differences between what a move and a convention. The
writings tips were helpful, at least the second one was because the first one
was something that I always look up on the OWL page and have prior experience
with. Anyways parallelism was a bit hard to understand because it’s something that
I never thought about, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how
often I encountered this already in writings. Having to read those two WP2s was
nice because I always like having something that I can refer to when writing my
own stuff, like Dirk mentio0ned, writers get ideas from previous writing of the
same genre—it went something like that.
