This week was about getting started on our WP3. Both the
reading from Monday at first seems okay, but upon beginning to work on my WP3
draft I realized how useful they were. The first reading really help me to
decide how I should present my two transformations, while the second got me
thinking more about the specifics for each transformation.
In first
lecture we went back to genres, because that was main point of PB3A, finding
the two genres we’d want to work with. I personally had already thought about
the first one the night before when reading through my journal—a short story
for children. For this reason, Monday’s lecture was helpful because we talked
about the convention of children’s books. Monday’s lecture was about getting a
feel for what we would want to do and I thought it did a good job at getting us
to think how we would each approach these transformations.
Now on Wednesday
we did a lot of summarizing. I think we did this because it was a way for us to
learn the difference between summarizing something and analysis said thing. We
also went over many of the ideas introduced form Monday’s reading, a good
reminder for what we should keep in mind when writing the two distinct genres.
Reading
the comments left on PB3A were very helpful. At first I was thinking about
writing a contract for my older audience, but then I decided that a syllabus
would work better within the context that I had in mind.
